Job title: Contracts and Procurement Manager (local hire)
Reports to: Senior Manager Support Service
Start date: Immediate
Duration: One year with possibility of extension
Duty station: Bamako.
I. OVERVIEW AND SPECIFICS:
Save the children is looking for a contracts and Procurement Manager with INGOs experience working for its programs in Sahel (Mali, Guinea and Burkina).
As a knowledgeable Contracts and Procurement Manager, you will have previous experience working with Not-for- profit organizations, utilizing your excellent contracts and procurement skills on major procurements. The procurement activities include acquisition of primarily gods and services for the program implementation, constructions works, and organization of trainings activities etc. While dealing with contactor including constructions companies, you will work with programs and finance in Save the Children to coordinate the planning, logistic, correspondence and contract writing for the transactions.
With the Senior Manager Support services you will implement and administer contracts and procurement processes and assist the procurement committee in the selection process of suppliers and contactors across the projects, through a fair, competitive and transparent manner.
The successful candidate will possess:
Provide total contract support to the project.
Substantial operational procurement knowledge from within a similar not-for-profit organization
Prepare tender and contract documentation (assisted by program and the Engineer company for construction works, or where as appropriate)
Demonstrated experience in preparing and interpreting complex contract documents
Well developed negotiation skills and superior written communication skills (in French and English) are also essential to the success of this role.
High level of honesty and integrity
Draft and negotiate terms and agreements with all vendors and suppliers.
II. Qualifications and experiences:
Master degree in Business Administration, Business Law, Science of Management or related field.
2-3 years similar experience in INGOs or Business sector
Successfully leading and mentoring a contracts and procurement team
Have a sense of urgency meeting contractual requirements
Excellent communication (verbal & writing) and negotiation skills
Staff training and orientation skills.
Willing to travel to the field (impact areas).
